How the Hub works

How ranking works

Every list on GrokBotsHub uses one of five sort orders. Here is exactly what each one sorts by, what we count to get there, and what can never change the order.

The five sort orders

You pick the order at the top of any bot list. Only bots that are live or have a broken-link warning are listed; retired bots never are.

  1. Trending · the default

Trending score, highest first. Ties go to the higher trust level, then to the newest listing.

  2. Top rated

Average rating, highest first. Ties go to the bot with more ratings, then to the higher trust level.

  3. Most added

Number of “Add to Grok Bot” clicks, highest first. Ties go to the higher trust level.

  4. Newest

The date the bot was first listed on the Hub, newest first.

  5. A–Z

    Bot name, alphabetical.

The trust level used as a tiebreaker is the one from the Trust Ladder: Staff pick first, then Hub-tested, Creator verified, Link verified and Listed.

The trending score combines a bot's adds, saves and views, with recent days weighing more than older ones. Trust breaks ties. When scores are equal, for example for new bots with no activity yet, the order falls back to trust level and then to the newest listing.

Ratings are not part of the trending score. They have their own order: Top rated.

When you search, results come in relevance order unless you choose another sort. Relevance puts names that start with your words first, then the best full-text match across the name, description, summary and connected apps, then the closest name, and then the trending score. The creator's name is searched too.

What we count

  • Adds: clicks on "Add to Grok Bot". The button goes through our own redirect, which counts the click and sends you to the share page on x.ai. Known crawlers and link previews are not counted. We cannot see whether you finished adding the bot on x.ai.
  • Views: visits to a bot page, counted at most once per visitor per bot per hour.
  • Saves: signed-in users saving a bot to their list.
  • Ratings: one review per signed-in user per bot. Hidden reviews do not count toward the average.

All of these are counted on our side and start at zero for every new listing. We never import or type them in. How we treat the data behind them is in the privacy policy.

A paid placement always carries a Sponsored label. Sponsorship never changes a bot's trust level, its test verdict, its reviews or its place in the organic order of any list. None of the sort orders above reads it. More on advertising on the Hub.
